Reaching general practice at scale is hard. A programme that needs the involvement of practices across Devon otherwise means approaching more than 120 independent businesses separately, each with its own priorities and capacity.

DCB offers one route in. Because the collaborative is owned by those practices, engagement through DCB carries a mandate that an approach from outside does not, and the work stays rooted in local primary care rather than being done to it.
